I will say this, it has the best version of Organ Donor I've ever heard. I also felt it was overly scratched by Qbert. Nothing new on this release, however the song selections are standout. Only for the DJ Shadow devoted.
The scratches are kinetic explosions willing you to move, even if its just the muscles of your mouth in a smile. If you buy this as part of the special edition just throw out CD 1. If you like spontaneous music full of adventure and creativity you will love this. His scratching ability is unparralled.
I got this as the second CD of the DJ Shadow Premeptive Strike special edition CD. If you liked this check out the Return of the DJ series. If you like humour and fun you will love this. I never listen to the "side one" CD.
If you like rythm you will love this. QBerts solo album is also great but sadly I was expecting so much from my devotion to this record that I was a teeny bit dissapointed with Wave Twisters (even though I went out and bouught the film). Its gathering dust somewhere. Shadow is talented (though overhyped) but QBert it the Jimmy Hendrix of the turntables.
I have come to know that there are limited copies of Preemptive Strike that include this album as a bonus second disk (that is what I own). So, don't get hosed by buying another copy of what you already own. This is @ 27 minute of complete funked out madness. But, there are other copies of Preemptive Strike that don't have this album included. If you happen to have purchase Preemptive Strike without the bouns disk included, pick this one up today, it is essential for your collection. Q-Bert takes DJ Shadow to another level all together. Definitely worth owning this one.**Preemptive Strike owners beware.
very wonderful remix. This album is qbert's remix album. Dj shadow's song exchange to qbert's style.
